Cirque Nuit will be held on November 17 at the Foothills Higher Education Center. The evening will feature fine dining, entertainment and dancing, a champagne diamond raffle, silent auction, and more! Proceeds will benefit the programs of the BRHC Foundation including: the Burke County School Nurse Program, the BRHC Cancer Center, the Chaplain’s Discretionary Fund, Women and Children’s Health, the Diabetes Education Center, and many more.

Your donation of $10 will purchase a light on the Lights of Love tree, illuminated in memory or in honor of individuals throughout December. Individuals being recognized will be notified of your thoughtfulness by mail and their name will be placed beside each tree through the month of December. The amount of your gift will not be mentioned.

The Ligts of Love trees will be illuminated on Thursday, December 1, at noon in the Grace Hospital, Valdese Hospital, and Grace Ridge lobbies.

The mission of the School Nurse Program is to provide critical healthcare services to our school-aged children and assist in addressing potential health problems that are barriers to learning or symptoms of underlying medical conditions. Burke County School Nurses had over 16,000 visits in 2010 for reasons ranging from nosebleeds and fever to abuse/neglect, tube feedings, cardiac issues and pregnancy. In many instances, the School Nurse is the only healthcare provider schoolchildren will see.

The Blue Ridge HealthCare Volunteers Guild today donated $10,000 to the Burke County School Nurse Fund.
